Hiring qualified employees is an art but also requires certain skills. You have to be a good listener; you need to know how to redirect a conversation; and you must be able to make a distinction between those who simply want the job and the perfect candidate who can get the job done.
Steps for Conducting Interview
1. Prepare/Plan the Interview
2. Know what you want ; Write it down
3. Start off with general questions
4. Ask probing questions ; Ask direct/indirect questions that validate your understanding.
5. Be persistent
6. Ask for specific examples from candidate's personal experience (Behavioral)
7. Keep the discussion always on track ... If lost , get it back!!!
8. Try to stimulate ideas ... Check for Candidate's innovativeness
9. Check for Attitude ... Remember that Attitude is everything !!!
10. Close Interview with happy note whether you like (or) not ... It's minimum courtesy.
